Tierce pilgrimage

Bessans
Tierce pilgrimage overlooking the Bessans Nordic plateau - Jeremy Tracq

In Bessans, we celebrate Notre-Dame at the top of the mountain at 2973m each year on July 16th. The oratory built in 1446 by the inhabitants of the Vincendières was restored in 1984 by volunteers. Good walkers, the rise is done in 4 hours side Ribon.

Description

Celebrated on the day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on July 16. Carmel, mountain of Palestine, was a place of prayer. The Carmelites built a monastery there dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
