The Nordic event to kick off the season!To mark the opening of the cross-country skiing and biathlon season, Bessans is offering its S.N.O.W. (Ski Nordic Opening Winter) event at the beginning of November: a 1st snow day to celebrate the resumption of Nordic activities. An early opening is possible at Bessans thanks to the snowfarming technique and its particular environment (a plateau at 1700m altitude surrounded by glaciers and peaks over 3000 which offer cool temperatures from autumn onwards: in Bessans, the average temperature in November is -1.2°).
The opening of the cross-country skiing season is eagerly awaited by both amateur skiers and professional teams. In November 2023, for example, the French cross-country and biathlon teams spent 2 weeks in Bessans to prepare for their season.

For the S.N.OW., several cross-country ski brands are present in Bessans to let you try out their latest skis and waxes. You'll be able to glide with the very latest skis from Salomon, Rossignol, Fischer...
