Bessans
Bessans 1750 m, a shared space - Michel Pérès

The history of Bessans since the early 20th century: today's schoolchildren act as guides. They interview those who have witnessed the evolution of the village into a resort where agriculture and mountain sports and leisure activities coexist. Screening followed by discussion with village residents.

Description

This film tells the story of Bessans and its evolution since the beginning of the 20th century in relation to major events (wars, flooding of the Arc, arrival of mechanization...).
It draws on local accounts, both past and present, as well as studies by specialists and rare documents (photos, audio, video), all presented by a group of young people from today.
With them, we discover how this village, which until the 1960s lived solely on agriculture and livestock farming, has become a village resort open to sport, mountain leisure and tourism.
This film was produced by the Bessans Jadis et Aujourd'hui association, which is dedicated to promoting local heritage in all its forms. Screening followed by a discussion with village residents.
