Bessans under the stars: guided nocturnal tour

Follow your guide through the narrow streets of the village and meet the builders, painters and sculptors of the chapel of Saint Antoine and the church of Saint Jean Baptiste. Supervised by a Pays d'art et d'histoire guide.

Description

A stopover in Bessans on the Route Les Chemins du Baroque for a guided tour through the chapel of Saint-Antoine. It shows 40 panels painted on the walls by probably Lombard artists and depicting episodes from the life of Christ. You will learn there that a multitude of local details mix the life of Christ with that of the village. A stone's throw away, the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church and its arched windows let you admire magnificent murals, a high altar in white marble, as well as a vault with medallions. Activity supervised by a guide from the Pays d'art et d'histoire des Hautes Vallées de Savoie.
