La Mottuaz walking loop

Bessans
La Mottuaz walking loop - OTHMV - B. Thomas

If you've always dreamed of immersing yourself at the foot of the glaciers, this is the perfect escape for you. Explore the high-altitude Revena balcony and flank a torrent of incomparable charm. The Avérole valley is waiting for you!

Description

Leave the hamlet of Les Vincendières to join the carriage road, which will allow you to start this hike with peace of mind. Get ready for a 3 km climb towards Les Planors. Soon after leaving the forest, you come to an area of ancient perched hamlets. The little cirque of the torrent de Ré Bruyant is a haven of peace in which to observe the majestic Charbonnel and its hanging glacier. Standing at 3752m, this summit will make you dream of high altitude. La Buffaz, la Mottuaz... But how do you pronounce these names? Between scree slopes and stream crossings, the balcony trail is a total escape. Begin a descent during which each stride brings you a little closer to the St Antoine du bec oratory. The sound of the Avérole torrent accompanies you all the way to Les Vincendières. If you feel like it, enjoy a gourmet break at the Babatchô. Then extend your escape to the hamlet of La Goulaz for a guaranteed immersion experience.
