Association Bessans Bonneval-sur-Arc Territoire d'Alpinisme

HM guides, mountain leaders and ski instructors from the Bessans Bonneval-sur-Arc area will accompany you on the path of discovery, improvement and autonomy in the practice of mountaineering through the values of UNESCO.

Description

Territorial development activities: development of the "TERRE D'ALPINISME UNESCO" label through mountaineering and ski mountaineering/ski touring in Bessans and Bonneval-sur-Arc.

The Bessans Bonneval-sur-Arc region is the 2nd French region to be awarded the "TERRE D'ALPINISME" label by the UNESCO France Alpinism Committee on June 29, 2021. The objectives of the association behind the project to obtain the label are to:
To implement actions that will perpetuate mountaineering as defined in its UNESCO listing.
To act as a catalyst for experience and best practice in mountaineering that is firmly rooted, alive and shared.
To make mountaineering a strong marker of identity, a source of pride for the local population and a positive differentiating factor for the region.
A number of actions have been taken to date to help achieve these objectives:
Creation of a website and a Face Book page
Provision of a brochure explaining the inclusion of mountaineering on UNESCO's list of Cultural and Intangible Heritage of Humanity and the "TERRE D'ALPINISME" label, and presenting the various activities on offer (link to website).
Film/lecture sessions on mountaineering and ski-mountaineering.
Creation of a ski touring trail with the Bessans ski resort.
Glacier ascents at special prices in July and August from our refuges.
Fête du Rocher: children's Via Ferrata.
A "Ski-Alpinisme / Ski de Randonnée" photo competition: 1st prize a pair of ski touring skis.
Participation in the "L'Aventure Givrée" event: 3 days of ice climbing in Bessans and Bonneval.

All mountaineering activities are supervised by local mountain guides.
