Ski Mountaineering / Backcountry Skiing Photo Contest

Go on a ski mountaineering or ski touring trip with a high-mountain guide or ski instructor from Bessans or Bonneval-sur-Arc. Send us two photos taken during the trip for a chance to win prizes (ski touring gear, a jacket, etc.).

Description

From December 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027, are you going on a ski mountaineering, ski touring, or spring skiing trip with a high-mountain guide or an instructor from the ESF in Bessans or Bonneval-sur-Arc, an area designated as a “UNESCO Land of Mountaineering”?
Take photos in “landscape” mode, featuring one or more skiers in action in the foreground and highlighting the surrounding landscape. Submit your two best photos by logging on to the Bessans-Bonneval-sur-Arc Territoire d’Alpinisme website or by scanning the QR code on the “Photo Contest” flyer available at ESF locations and the tourist offices in Bessans and Bonneval-sur-Arc. Fill out the online form and attach your two photos.
The six best photographers in the “Alpine Skier / Backcountry Skier / Spring Skier” categories will be notified in June 2027.
1st prize: a pair of Dynafit ski touring skis
2nd prize: a Millet ski touring jacket
3rd prize: an Ortovox safety kit (avalanche transceiver, snow shovel, probe)
4th prize: a Millet ski touring backpack
5th prize: a Petzl ski touring ice axe
6th prize: a pair of Petzl ski touring crampons

Additional welcome

Good practice of downhill skiing on red and black runs in all types of snow.

Rates

Free of charge. Participation in the competition is free. The outing where the photos are taken must be supervised by an ESF Guide or Instructor from Bessans or Bonneval and is subject to a charge.
