Here, the mountains offer themselves in all their winter splendor, both gentle and powerful. On these slopes, where the snow dances in the wind, it breathes and sometimes breaks free: avalanches are a reminder that this universe remains alive, untameable.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

• 1/ From the Espace sportif du Carreley parking lot, cross the Torrent d'Avérole to reach the La Bessanaise vacation resort.
  2/ 0 h 25 - Then follow the stream up to the hamlet of La Goulaz, before continuing on into the Avérole Valley (out-and-back section).
  3/ 2 h - After returning to the hamlet of La Goulaz, continue on the main path to the Travérole plateau.
  4/ 2 h 20 - At the next crossroads, head towards La Bessanaise and follow the same route as before to reach the Carreley parking lot.
  5/ 2 h 45 - Le Carreley sports area.
