Olympic champions are coming to the Biathlon Contest in Bessans!
Bessans is the go-to training ground for the French biathlon team. This summer, the Biathlon Contest will be the perfect opportunity to come celebrate our champions following their exceptional achievements at the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games. During those Games, the French team inspired the whole of France by becoming the world’s top biathlon nation with an incredible total of 13 medals, including 6 gold.
For this unique event, you’ll be able to meet Julia Simon and Quentin Fillon Maillet, who have been the competition’s top medal winners with three Olympic gold medals each. Champion Lou Jeanmonnot will also be there with her four magnificent medals, as will the young golden generation led by Océane Michelon and Éric Perrot , who are returning from Italy with three impressive medals each in their luggage. Come out in large numbers to cheer them on, watch them compete at the shooting range, and share an unforgettable moment with them in the great outdoors!

Bessans' summer Nordic event!In August, Bessans hosts the Biathlon Contest on the international biathlon stadium. Every year, the summer biathlon event features a top-class line-up, with the French men's and women's teams taking part in the "shooting challenge".
On the schedule: events combining roller skiing and shooting, as well as head-to-head shooting competitions between the national teams and the other biathletes in attendance.
While the pros compete, spectators and amateurs can try out biathlon in summer mode. Rollerblading around the track, then shooting with a laser rifle, there's plenty to discover in this spectacular sport.

Try biathlon all summer long
The Biathlon Contest is the highlight of the summer for discovering biathlon and meeting the best French and international athletes. But all summer long, you can try out biathlon in Bessans. With free laser rifle initiation courses every Wednesday, or private lessons with ski-wheeling and shooting.
Bessans wins over the French team
On a vast plateau nestled at an altitude of 1,750 m in Haute Maurienne Vanoise, Bessans is a world-renowned training center for ski-wheelers and biathletes.
